Going to a Past Life with Therapy
What Is Past Life Regression Therapy?
Past life regression therapy uses hypnosis or deep meditation to guide individuals into their subconscious to access memories, impressions, or experiences from a previous life. Some people uncover painful moments. Others uncover joy. But the common thread is clarity—about your current struggles and unexplained feelings.
While some call it imagination or suggest it’s just your mind filling in blanks, others feel, taste, or even smell details that echo through time.
My First Past Life Regression Session
The Grief That Led Me There
My journey began after losing my father. The grief left me feeling incomplete, like I hadn’t fully understood our relationship. That’s when I turned to past life regression.
The session lasted two hours. When it ended, something had shifted. The loss was still there, but the emotional weight had softened. I felt like I'd made spiritual peace with him.
Entering the Memory
The therapist began by guiding me to a joyful moment—my childhood beach vacation. From there, I visualized a white door with a golden handle, marked with the number 1. A girl in a dress appeared behind it. She touched objects on a shelf, surrounded by books. It was both familiar and strange.
Revisiting My Childhood and Home
The next image took me to a school from my hometown. My heart raced. My therapist redirected me to the earlier, calmer library scene. The girl reappeared, along with a woman who looked like my mother. The emotional parallels were uncanny.
Was It Real or My Imagination?
I’ve never lived in South Carolina, but I was accepted to grad school there in 2012. In the session, the girl—Lori—was graduating. My mom was calling her name. My old professor was there too. The logic didn’t add up, but the emotional truth felt real.
My therapist told me: don’t force the meaning. It may come with time. And she was right.
Lori’s Life Begins to Mirror Mine
In a new scene, Lori worked in a bustling city, stressed out at her marketing job. Her small apartment overflowed with books and an old typewriter. She wrote stories, scribbled in margins, devoured narratives—just like me.
This was the moment her life started to echo mine. I’ve always written. Always loved stories. The resonance hit deep.
A Glimpse into Her Future
The therapist then guided me to Lori in her 40s. She sat in a peaceful library surrounded by 15 books she’d written. Each had a brown cover with a woman’s face in a mirror. She didn’t sell them—she simply shared them.
It reminded me of a dream I’d had as a kid: writing and working in publishing. Maybe this was a nudge from my soul—or from Lori’s.
In her 70s, Lori was on her deathbed, joking with nurses. The scene was warm, peaceful. My mom once worked in a nursing home. Maybe that memory blended in. Or maybe it showed how I might someday exit—with peace and humor.
Understanding the Lessons
“What did you learn?” my therapist asked.
Here’s what came up:
- Love your people deeply
- Appreciate the small things
- Stay connected to your passion
- Find peace at your own ending
Whether or not every detail tied directly to my current life, the emotional truth did. Lori was happy doing her own thing, on her own terms. That’s exactly what I want for my life.
A Message from a Higher Power
To close the session, my therapist asked me to connect with a higher power. I saw a swing gently swaying in the air. The words “trust” and “push” came through clearly.
She said, “The path won’t always be easy, but if you keep going, it can become something beautiful.”
I opened my eyes feeling lighter and more grounded. Lori’s memories were still there, but so was a new sense of clarity. In every major moment of Lori’s life, someone like my mom was there. Just like in mine.
Was It Really a Past Life?
Afterward, I questioned everything. Was this real? Was it just my imagination? My therapist said most people ask that. But he reminded me that the value doesn’t lie in proving past lives. It lies in how those images, feelings, or ideas help you live this life more fully.
Moving Forward with Insight
Maybe Lori was me in another life. Maybe she wasn’t. But she reflected something I needed to see. Her passion, her struggles, her books—all mirrored my hidden longings.
What I learned from the session wasn’t just about her life. It was about living mine better—more intentionally, more freely, and more fully in the now.
